Design Team
The Long Prairie Chamber of Commerce website was redesigned by students at Metropolitan State University in the summer of 2011, as part of John Simmer's course on Writing and Designing for the Web.
Each of the Design Team members is pursuing an M.S. degree in Technical Communication at Metropolitan State.
Ann Hall- Project Manager, Developer
Ann graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in Philosophy. She works for Lisec America, a machinery supplier to the glass and solar industries, as a sales coordinator. Ann has been active in various Minneapolis nonprofit bookstores, and is a founding collective member of Boneshaker Books in Minneapolis. She lives in Richfield, MN with her husband and son. Ron Heck- Content Strategy, Developer
Ron holds a B.S. in Mass Communications and a B.A. in English from St. Cloud State University.
Ron works as a Training and Development Specialist for a desktop publishing team at Merrill Corporation. Merrill produces documents like prospectuses and annual reports for investment companies (www.merrillcorp.com). He has traveled to Chennai, India to provide training to employees at Merrill's India office.
Ron is a member of the Germanic-American Institute in St. Paul and frequently volunteers at events (www.gai-mn.org). He is studying German at the Institute with the goal of achieving a Zertifikat Deutsch from the Goethe Institute.

Will Wells- Graphic Design, Developer
Will is returning to school after 35 years of working and teaching in the field of graphics. He has been an artist, illustrator, designer, art director, production manager and instructor in areas as diverse as fleet graphics, textbook design, and motion picture advertising. Will is currently pursuing the odd graphic design job and teaching chess on the side. Will hopes to return to post-secondary teaching upon the completion of his degree.
Eric Winters- Web Developer
Eric works as a Project Coordinator for Merrill Corporation. He holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota. When he is not working or studying, Eric is outside taking photos or in his garage welding various art projects. Please contact Eric at winter@go.metrostate.edu
Hilary Ziols- Strategy, Documentation
Hilary is a science educator and writer and is very interested in wikis, websites designed for collaboration, because they enable synergy and make it possible to avoid some meetings. She is a beginning web designer, and contributed some content strategy ideas, accessibility testing, and designed the final report for the redesign of the Long Prairie Chamber of Commerce site.
